New Program Development
MedHelp Maine, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, helps Maine hospitals develop prescription assistance programs for their medical staff members and for these physicians' patients at risk of medication nonadherence due to cost.
MedHelp Maine has no paid staff. It does not charge patients, physicians, or hospitals for its guidance. It merely looks forward to the day when all Maine physicians and patients have access to a local hospital-managed prescription assistance program that can help ensure patient adherence to prescribed drug therapy and therefore greater health.
New program development and start-up is led by Martha Morrison, MedHelp Maine's founder and director. An individual with decades of hospital, health care, and social service experience, her academic preparation includes human biology, pharmacy, public health, and social work. She has earned a master's degree in hospital administration.
MedHelp Maine program development guidance includes:

- Employee and volunteer staffing
